Job Title: Sales Professional

Job Description:

Biopticon Corporation (www.biopticon.com) develops imaging equipment and software for preclinical oncology research groups.  We offer a fully developed product suite to an established and worldwide customer base. We are seeking to rapidly expand our marketing presence in conjunction with the last year’s release of our new imaging scanner TumorImager-2TM. We are looking for an enthusiastic sales professional to join our entrepreneurial team. An attractive commission + share-based compensation package will be included.

Job Summary: 

You will be responsible for reaching out to and maintaining contact with pharma, biotech, contract research organizations (CRO’s), and research organizations interested in Biopticon’s software and hardware products. You work closely with the company CEO and take lead in developing both domestic and international sales strategies. You will also be responsible for lead generation, initial prospect evaluation and qualification, setting up and making sales calls, scheduling and eventually leading product demonstrations, and presenting the company’s value proposition, and interaction with multiple levels of decision-makers.

Familiarity with the life sciences industry will be beneficial. You should be comfortable using our Windows-based software and associated imaging technology. You are expected to become proficient in discussing our products with technicians and scientists. After an initial training period, a successful candidate will continue to work with our team, but should also be a self-starter. Lastly, we expect candidates will have a passion to help expand the company sales, services, and staff.

Job Responsibilities: 

  • Achieve/exceed weekly and monthly productivity goals for phone time and call count
  • Place outbound telephone calls to pharma, biotech, CRO’s, university and non-profit oncology research centers) and follow leads
  • Receive inbound calls, assist in identifying customer needs
  • Develop key prospective client relationships
  • Maintain familiarity with current product line including software as needed for sales
  • Prepare and introduce product information for prospective customers
  • Web-based product demonstrations
  • On-site customer sales/demos visits as needed
  • Develop and analyze domestic and international marketing plan
  • Regular presentations of marketing strategy and sales progress to the team
  • Develop sales material (pamphlets, brochures, emails, etc.) needed for presentations and conference attendance
  • Develop a leasing and other optional sales plans (financial support, payment options etc.)
  • Analyze and improve current price list based on the market and competitors’ pricing
  • Improve sales cycle by optimizing inventory maintenance, manufacturing, testing and sales cycles
  • Select and Organize company presence during annual trade shows
  • Attend trade shows and arrange trade show events to attract new leads

Desired Skills & Experience:

Education:

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree in life sciences or business is preferred.

Experience:

  • 2-5+ years of experience and documented success in sales   (focus on clinical research/preclinical experience a significant advantage)
  • Independence and entrepreneurial drive
  • Scientific or clinical background desirable
  • Effective presentation and interpersonal skills
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Energetic, flexible, enthusiastic and highly motivated
  • Experience working in startup environment is a plus
